Prayer is the way we make contact with God. It is simple communication with God. Prayer is one of the most self-revealing acts of a human being. It is crying out to God and pouring our soul out to him. Through prayer, we let God know what we need. More importantly, prayer is listening to God. It serves as a way to hear the voice of God in our lives; by praying Scripture back to God, we can know the Will of God. The Bible teaches that we are to pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances (I Thessalonians 5:17).
The ministry of the church is to bring the Will in heaven to Earth. How does the church bring the Will in heaven to Earth? It is by prayer and service on Earth. Prayer is not as small and insignificant as some may think. It is not something that is dispensable. Prayer is the church saying to God, “God, we want Your will.” Prayer is the church knowing God’s heart and opening its mouth to ask for what is in God’s heart.
At CCLC, one of our core values is to be engaged in prayer.
How can we pray for you?
